The Littlejohn Outboard Stowage Bracket is a most useful item of chandlery, providing a safe harbour for the dinghy's outboard engine, away from fenders, ropes and gear.
It is made from marine grade aluminium and Iroko (African Teak), with stainless steel bolts ,nuts and washers. So it's tough; although designed for a 5-7hp motor, we have heard of one carrying a 25hp outboard across the Atlantic.
The bracket has been designed to enable safe stowage of your dinghy's outboard motor on the pushpit or guardrail. The engine is stowed in a vertical position, preventing cooling water from entering the engine head. Stowage on the rails prevents petrol fumes entering the lockers, greasy parts contaminating ropes and fenders and hot exhausts melting plastic pipes.
It is designed to fit standard 25mm (1") stainless steel tubing. For fitting use a metric 13mm spanner/socket for all nuts and bolts. Do not over-tighten.
There are two mounting alternatives, Horizontal, for mounting on the top rail or the yacht's pushpit, and Vertical mounting for fixing to a vertical tube or stanchion.
